I am a qualified Family Counsellor/Psychotherapist
with a University Post Masters Degree in this discipline.
Some people choose counselling/psychotherapy as
opposed to hypnotherapy to explore their issues and concerns. I would like to
briefly cover some of the important facts about counselling/psychotherapy.
Counselling/Psychotherapy - People come to
counselling/psychotherapy because they are experiencing anxiety and pain in
their lives. The purpose of this therapy is to explore these issues.
Description of Method
The counselling approach used is an integrative one
(drawing on different theorists) based on the needs of the client. The
counsellor listens actively, empathizes, reflects back feelings and content,
intervenes artfully and treats the process with a sense of urgency.

Each session lasts one hour. This is the clients
time and it will not be given to anyone else. A cancellation should be made
well in advance if the client cannot make the session and a new appointment
made. Sessions can run over time at no extra charge.
Every day, sex addicts face the possibility of

physically or emotionally and saw an addictive behaviour firsthand in their

People often seek the help of therapy when they
are unable consciously to bring about the change they seek. The change they
seek may be giving up some old habit such as smoking or getting rid of some old
phobia (irrational fear).
Sometimes also some medical conditions can be
brought about by our own bodies response to stress and these illnesses can
also be amenable to therapy.
The practice of hypnotherapy, or relaxation
therapy, is a natural state, which has helped people for thousands of years and
can have very rewarding results.
This form of therapy requires motivation on the
part of the client and also time and guidance by the therapist. It should only
be recomended when any possible organic disease has been outruled.
State of Hypnosis
This is a state of complete mental and physical
relaxation (somnambulism) brought about by the guidance of the therapist. The
client is not asleep, but has the appearance of sleep. He is in fact focused on
the words of the therapist and is very receptive to his suggestions. He will
not however say or do anything, which is contrary to his own character and

Hypnos which means sleep was coined by the Scottish surgeon James Braid in
the last century.
This is the treatment or therapy which is
undertaken whilst the client is in the state of hypnosis.
I recognize two forms of therapy:
Suggestion Therapy and Analytic Therapy/NLP.
Many problems can be corrected simply in one to
three sessions by simple suggestion to the unconscious mind. Smoking, nail
biting, fear of flying etc. can be ideally treated in this form.
This form of therapy looks at the root cause or
symptoms of a problem, and by doing so the client is assisted to look at their
life in a positive way that gives a feeling of empowerment and strength.
Your mind is like a computer-it has its own
software, which helps you to organize your thinking and behaviour . Having
worked with all sorts of people with different problems over many years, I have
learnt that almost all problems stem from the same cause-negative programmes
running in the unconscious mind.
Neuro-Liguistic Programming(NLP) is a new science which assists in
reprogramming your computer-your unconscious mind-so that you can make
appropriate positive changes.
A session in therapy normally lasts approx one hour
and twenty minutes and if repeated sessions are required, are normally repeated

Hypnotist. I am a Licensed Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming
(NLP) and was certified as a Hypnotic Practitioner by Paul McKenna.

This programme which is similar to Paul McKennas

motivated to take exercise. This programme helps to repattern your thoughts, attitudes
and beliefs about yourself, your health and food to make loosing weight easy.
A session takes approximately one and half-hours to
complete. This programme is motivational and it is important for the client to
want to loose weight.
Stop Smoking with Hypnotherapy
It is my belief that smoking is a Learned
Conditioned Response, a habit and not an addiction as tobacco companies used to
have you believe.
In the hypnotic state, that Learned Response to
smoke that has been filed away in your subconscious mind is removed.
All you have to do is want it to happen. It is
important that you want to stop smoking for yourself and not just to please a
spouse, a partner, a doctor or somebody else.
The beauty of this unique approach is that I use
the best of traditional hypnotherapy techniques and combine them with the new
science of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which takes hypnosis and therapy
to an even greater level of effectiveness.
One of the reasons why it s not painful or
difficult to stop smoking with this method, is that I transfer the pleasure
derived from smoking to a healthier habit of your choice, eg; psychological
techniques, relaxation and exercise.
